The Villa

Villa Savioli Trevisan - Sede del Museo

The Veneto Villa Trevisan Savioli, owned by the municipality, was one of the most significant holiday residences of the Venetian nobility and it stands at Abano Terme, a spa already famous in Roman times.
Its layout dates back to the first half of the seventeenth century, but its present configuration was determined only in the eighteenth century. The architectural complex is made up of all the parts that traditionally formed a Venetian home: the residence of the owner, situated on the original axis, a small Italian garden, the transformed former "barchessa" or rustic wing, the chapel flanked by two supporting buildings, the courtyard and the vast "brolo" or orchard complete the historic site.
The Town Council discussed and approved the agreement with Centro Maschere e Strutture Gestuali, granting a free loan of the Villa which will be used to house the "International Museum of the Mask Amleto and Donato Sartori".
This new and unique complex endows Abano Terme with a modern, dynamic and experimental Museum, unique in the world, with materials to be seen and used, open to young people who want to learn the art of the mask, but also to scholars who want to study this theme.
